Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to bring my own towel?
Nope! We supply towels, shampoo and all that good stuff. If you wear contacts, you may want to bring a case to hold them. You may want to bring your own comb or brush for after your float.
I died my hair recently. Can I still float?
Hair dye has the potential of staining our white float tanks creating an expensive clean up. If your hair dye bleeds out onto a white towel after washing it, you may not float. You are responsible for performing a white towel test prior to floating. Staining the float tank will result in a $1,000 cleaning fee.
Do I need to bring a bathing suit?
Nope! At Paradise, we like to FLOAT NAKED! A bathing suit could introduce a tactile sensation which is another external stimuli that we are trying to reduce. Rest assured, no one will see you as you will be in a completely private, locked area complete with shower. Plus, floating naked eliminates having to carry a wet bathing suit with you after you leave.
Can pregnant women float?
Yes! We advise pregnant women in their first trimester to wait until the second and third trimester to float. Floating is great for pregnant women as they are under the strain of carrying that extra weight. Studies have shown that a stressed pregnant woman can pass those stress hormones to her baby, so the more relaxed and stress-free Mom is, the better.
Do you offer Couples Floats?
We have two options, you may like our Float with a Friend special, where you and your partner can float simultaneously (in separate tanks) and then come together in our peaceful post-float lounge after your floats. We also offer Tandem Floats where two people use the same tank. The sensory deprivation experience yields to quality time with your friend.
Being still is the origin of motion. From that state we can try to make good decisions about when to be solo and when to be together. Imagine paying good money to reach the deepest relaxation on earth and then your partner starts snoring! Or just as you are reaching a new level of consciousness and they splash saltwater in your eyes Or you slip into a much needed, deep sleep and the other person wakes you as they get up to rinse saltwater out of their eyes.
True sensory deprivation is done alone.
Do you offer Gift Cards?
Yes, we do have gift cards. They can be purchased online or in-store.
What if I can’t Swim?
No worries! The Float solution is only 10 inches deep and contains enough Epsom Salts to ensure you stay boyant without any effort. In fact, many people safely sleep while floating.
Is there a age limit? Can my child float?
We understand that each child is different so we leave it up to the parent to decide if their child can float successfully. In fact, we have had children as young as 11 years old float with no problem and they LOVED IT!
I’m claustrophobic, what if I freak out?
Don’t worry, our tanks are large with a door that easily swings open on the side. No pods here! The calming blue starlights and blue underwater lights will help ease your worries. Floating can actually help reduce claustophobia!
Is the water clean and safe?
You can be assured that the water is regularly tested and kept in optimal condition. Between each float, a pump will draw all the water through a sophisticated system which must pass through a filter for any particulates and then exposes the water UltraViolet light, is dosed with 35% Hydrogen Peroxide and ozone sanitized. The 1,000 pounds of Epsom Salts additionally provides another level of disinfectant. Many Health Departments, once they understand more about floating, consider float tanks to be minimal risk, much lower than hot tubs or swimming pools.
